will speak on
Information Technology: Armenian Progress in Infrastructure, Education, and Business
Based on his long-term work as an Executive Director of a private Information Technology training academy in the Republic of Armenia, Jason Paul Kazarian will offer a high-level examination of public and private efforts in Armenian information technology. In his 45 minute talk he will discuss the country's networkinfrastructure, assess the state of high-tech education, and explore successful high-tech business models. He will describe the current state, discuss the foreseeable future state, and identify cultural and technological constraints unique to the country. Additionally, he will offer a subjective analysis on how the Diaspora can engage with and invest in Armenian businesses and non-government organizations to promote the Republic's growth in this crucial sector.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Jason Paul Kazarian received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a Mathematics Minor from California State University, Dominguez Hills; and a Master of cience in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Dallas. He has published a paper on distributed simulation, a thesis on real-time software, and copyrighted two works in the performing arts, two works in the visual arts, and an open source software package. Mr. Kazarian has twenty-five years of professional experience, including twelve years in defense, four years in telecommunications, three years in education, and six years in consulting. His project areas include accounting, embedded systems, fund raising, geographic information systems, medical databases, message processing, navigation, software porting, real-time systems, satellite control, simulation, telecommunications, telemetry reduction, training, user interfaces, and web marketing. Mr. Kazarian has spent several years in international product development. Most recently, he was the Executive Director of an Information Technology training academy in Gyumri, Armenia. He is currently a principal at Left Brained Geeks and focusing on private, technology-based start-ups for the Armenian domestic and international markets.
